Carpal Tunnel

I may or may have not created certain complications. Either way they're killing me inside, and for the first time in my life I truly do not know what to do.

Walking Home and Meeting the Almost Da Vinci Little Girl

I am known within my cirlce of friends to say a rather insulting compliment. An oxymoron you say? Well the compliment is "You're fat!" Some people think that I mean P-H-A-T. But I DO not mean the word fat. But I do not mean it for it's denotation. Fat is simply fat. It's not the synonym of overweight, obeist, or huge. It is simply a three letter word spelled F-A-T. It is my complement to those who I care about or I am comfortable with.

One day while walking home from my job at Burger King, a young girl turned a corner of an alley with her father. The girl wore a white dress, typical clothing that expressed the innocence within childrens' hearts. I watched her walk on and smiled as I was reminded of my baby sister, who resembled the girl because of the clothing. Suddenly, the girl turned around and walked towards me and gave me a piece of paper. She pointed to the crayon drawing and said "My brother drew this but I wrote that on top." She pointed to the writing. She smiled and left me there dumbfounded on the sidewalk. She walked on along with her father who was entirely oblivious to this short and screwy event.

I finally got the courage to walk again and looked at the piece of paper. It was a drawing of a car (obviously done by a kid) and on the bottom and upside-down was written "uoY Are Fet."

I stopped, shocked. Smiled. Then walked on home.

Hysteria Siberiana

"Day after day you watch the sun rise in the east, pass across the sky, then sink in the west, and something breaks inside you and dies. You throw your plough aside and, your head completely empty of thought, you begin walking toward the west. Heading toward a land that lies west of the sun. Like someone possessed, you walk on, day after day, not eating or drinking, until you collapse on the ground and die. That's hysteria siberiana."

Why?

Someone would want to compare someone they love with a Summer's day because that loved one has all the characteristics of Summer's day. First of all, that person is HOT! Dude, obviously! The rest: because Summer is the time for relaxation, it's very bright and brings out the best from anybody. Summer means no school ( Idon't know how that can relate to a person). Everything in nature is just perfect just like the loved one. You can enjoy being outside w/ someone just like summer. All the flowers are pretty especially the pink and green ones. The grass is nice. If there's no heat wave then the mild heat combined with the gentle breeze can lift someone off their feet and make that person feel so much better. It's time for ice cream which is sweet and cool. It's playing -blah blah- there's basketball. The sky is blue and the clouds are soft like cotton. The sun welcomes you and gives you life.

My Personal Investigation of The Da Vinci Code and It's Parallelism with My Self-Portrait

The Da Vinci Code
by Dan Brown

Dan Brown's Fact:
The Priory of Sion - a European secret society founded in 1099 - is a real organization. In 1975 Paris's Bibliotheque Nationale discovered parchments known as Les Dossiers Secrets, identifying numerous members of the Priory of Sion, including Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Leonardo Da Vinci.

The Vatican prelature known as Opus Dei is a deeply devout Catholic sect that has been the topic of recent controversy due to reports of brain washing, coercion, and a dangerous practice known as "corporal mortification." Opus Dei has just completed construction of a $47 million National Headquarters at 243 Lexington Avenue in New York City.

All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals in this novel are accurate.

Artwork Described in the Novel

  • Mona Lisa
  • Maddona of the Rocks

Self-Portrait
by Paolo Ysmael Tenorio Salazar

My Fact:
My self portrait was completed before I ever heard of and, possibly, before The Da Vinci Code was published. When the novel's plot unraveled, I immediately realized surprising and somewhat disturbing parallels between Dan Brown's novel and my self-portrait.

It is true that at the time I created my self-portrait, I was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci.
